2. FOOTAGE OF MI-8 TYPE HELICOPTER BEING DESTROYED KIEV, UKRAINE - SEPTEMBER 22: Ukrainian army has destroyed two Russian “Be-12 Chaika” amphibious aircraft and one “Mi-8” helicopter belonging to the Russian army, Ukrainian Ministry of Defense announced Monday.
A statement posted on the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence's Telegram account said that an attack was carried out on Russian “Be-12 Chaika” amphibious aircraft deployed in Crimea.
The attack was carried out by a special unit called “Primari” affiliated with the GUR, that two aircrafts were destroyed, the statement noted.
It was stated that “Be-12 Chaika” amphibious aircrafts are equipped with expensive equipment for detecting submarines and fighting them, and a “Mi-8” helicopter was also destroyed by the GUR in the same area.
Russia started its "special military operation" on Feb. 24, 2022 and claimed that it is aimed at protecting people in the eastern region of Ukraine.
Since then, millions have been displaced, thousands have lost their homes, and hundreds of medical and educational institutions have been destroyed.
