This is the amusing moment a dog joined a crew to help moor a ferry at dock.

Kilay, the talented Aspin pooch, waited at Polambato Port with its owner as the Melrivic 7 Passenger Ship slowly approached the quay in Cebu, the Philippines.

Footage shows the visibly excited canine catching a thin mooring rope thrown by a staff member on September 2.

Kilay then pulled the rope and handed it over to a worker, barking encouragingly at the men on the vessel.

Moments later, the crew can be seen pulling on the thick blue rope, with Kilay clasping it in his jaws to assist them in securing it to a bollard.

His owner said: 'Kilay loves to wait for the ships docking at the port and always helps the men to moor them.'
