Twenty-one people, including two children, were injured in a Russian missile strike on the regional center on Sunday morning.

The missile hit near a nine-story residential building, sparking fires that spread from the second to the fifth floors in one section and from the eighth to the ninth floors in another.

Rescue teams evacuated 13 residents and extinguished fires in apartments covering about 650 square meters.

Emergency rescue operations have been completed, while restoration work continues. Authorities said the number of injured is being verified.

Russia started its "special military operation" on Feb. 24, 2022 and claimed that it is aimed at protecting people in the eastern region of Ukraine.

Since then, millions have been displaced, thousands have lost their homes, and hundreds of medical and educational institutions have been destroyed.
