Cyclists take on the 50th Hollingbourne Hill Climb time trial in Kent, UK

Cyclists pitted themselves against the North Downs this morning in Kent, UK (September 28).

The 50th annual Hollingbourne Hill Climb saw participants riding up a steep and gruelling one mile ascent as fast as they could.

Hollingbourne Hill gets progressively steeper towards its end, with a gradient reaching over 12.5% for the top third.

Thirty-six riders entered the event, which is organised by Wigmore Cycling Club.

Riders were set off at one minute intervals and were cheered on by fellow cyclists.
