Incredible scenes see US immigration agents chasing man on Chicago streets
Incredible scenes saw US immigration agents chasing a man on the streets of Chicago on Sunday (Sep 28).
At least ten U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents dressed in full tactical gear went after the man after he allegedly shouted at them.
However, they failed to catch up with the person as he pedalled away on a bicycle.
Eyewitness Christopher Sweat filmed the incident after being tipped off that ICE were active in the city.
He said: "Earlier today ICE agents chase after a man in downtown Chicago after he made verbal comments but no physical or threatening contact. The man was able to get away."
"I received notification via proprietary human intelligence that ICE was operating in city center Chicago around 1pm US central on Sunday. I proceeded to intercept them and covered their activity for about two hours."
"About 20 minutes in, a man on a bike was riding nearby yelling at ICE, "I'm an illegal immigrant, come and arrest me."
"It was sort of tongue and cheek but he continued to heckle which is allowed as part of free speech as long as you're not obstructing law enforcement or interfering with the scene, of which the man was not."
"Then you see the contents of the video. The incident pictured occurred on Wacker Street, near the riverwalk in Chicago, Illinois."
Taking to social media, Christopher sent a message aimed at Kristi Noem, the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
He wrote: "I feel I may have posterized ICE today by capturing this exclusive moment. I know that"
Kristi Noem and her colleagues will see this in the morning."
The agents are in Chicago because ICE began an operation in early September 2025 called "Operation Midway Blitz", aiming to target undocumented immigrants who have committed crimes."
