Storyline: Some Philippines surviving the deadly earthquake slept outdoors since Tuesday night after the disaster destroyed homes and brought widespread power outages. The earthquake, striking Bogo City of central Philippine's Cebu province earlier Tuesday night, has killed at least 72 people and injured 200 others. Many villagers in suburban Bogo have to stay in tents or in vehicles since Tuesday night while waiting for relief supplies. "There was a tsunami warning and our house is near the seashore. [We are] feeling nervous as always," said Dianne Jusay, a local resident. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported that the 6.9-magnitude offshore earthquake struck at a depth of 5 km, approximately 19 km northeast of Bogo City. The institute reported that it has recorded more than 600 aftershocks since Tuesday night. The province of Cebu had declared a state of calamity, enabling the government, particularly local government units, to quickly access emergency funds to provide relief and rehabilitation, as well as to impose measures such as price freezes on essential goods to protect affected residents.
