Hundreds of rescuers are searching for the missing people in a school building collapse in Indonesia's East Java province as heavy machinery joined the operations on Friday. The building collapse, which took place in Sidoarjo on Monday, left at least nine people dead, with over 50 others still unaccounted for. To ensure an unimpeded rescue operation, the accident site has been cordoned off, with residents from the surrounding area evacuated to safe locations. All rescued ones have been transferred to hospitals in Sidoarjo and the neighboring Surabaya for treatment. Local authorities have not yet released the official cause of the collapse.
