The shutdown, which began at the end of August, paralysed nearly every aspect of JLR’s operations, including car production and parts distribution. The resumption is a relief for suppliers, especially smaller firms that have faced severe financial pressure. Last week, the UK government announced a £1.5 billion loan guarantee to support parts and service suppliers. Some had to lay off staff due to cash shortages.
