POLICE OFFICERS AT SCENE OF SHOOTING IN TIRANATIRANA, ALBANIA - OCTOBER 6: A judge was killed in a shooting at the Court of Appeals in Tirana, the capital of Albania, on Monday, Oct. 6. In a statement, the Tirana Police Department said that a 30-year-old defendant involved in a court case opened fire on Judge Astrit Kalaja inside the courthouse, killing him. The statement added that two other people were injured in the attack, though their injuries were not life-threatening. It was noted that the two people targeted by the suspect were a father and son who were on the opposing side in the case. According to the case file published on the court’s website, the dispute was related to a real estate property. Police later arrested the suspect, who had fled the scene, and seized the handgun allegedly used in the attack.
