VARIOUS OF MALAYSIANS AT KUALA LUMPUR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WAITING FOR GLOBAL SUMUD FLOTILLA ACTIVISTS / PRO-PALESTINE PEOPLE CHANTING SLOGANS, HOLDING PALESTINIAN FLAGS AND BANNERS / ACTIVISTS ARRIVING, PEOPLE CHEERING AND WELCOMING ACTIVISTS / ACTIVISTS ON BUS KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - OCT. 7, 2025: Malaysian activists who participated in the Global Sumud Flotilla arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Tuesday, Oct. 7. A welcoming crowd gathered at the airport, waving Palestinian flags and chanting slogans in support of “Free Palestine.” The activists were deported from Ramon Airport in Eilat, Israel, before they could reach Istanbul on Oct. 4. Israeli naval forces attacked and seized vessels from the Global Sumud Flotilla last week, detaining more than 470 activists from over 50 countries. The flotilla was trying to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and challenge Israel’s blockade of the enclave. Israel has maintained the blockade of Gaza, home to nearly 2.4 million people, for almost 18 years. Since October 2023, Israeli military operations have killed more than 67,000 Palestinians in Gaza, most of them women and children.
