This is the dramatic moment Palestine supporters who joined a flotilla to Gaza returned to the safety and comfort of Ireland.

Footage shows family and friends gathered at Dublin Airport's arrivals hall, waving Irish tricolours and Palestinian flags as the returning aid team walked through.

Banners reading 'Welcome Home' and 'Free Palestine' were held aloft, while relatives and activists carried flowers and bottles of water, cheering the group's arrival.

Five participants, including Irish comedian Tadhg Hickey, emerged with suitcases and were met with emotional embraces, loud applause, and drum beats, as airport security in yellow high-vis vests monitored the scene.

Israeli forces intercepted the Global Sumud Flotilla aid mission to Gaza on October 3. Detainees reportedly went four days without clean water, resorting to drinking toilet water. Diabetic participants, including Hickey, were allegedly denied insulin.

Eight of the 15 Irish activists have now returned and say they are determined to attempt the mission again.
