Built in 1955 by Soviet architect Lev Rudnev, it remains the tallest structure in the country. Construction involved 3,500 workers, 16 of whom lost their lives during the project. The 42-story building features a clock tower and houses a cinema, theater, library, sports clubs, scientific institutes, a university, and several museums. Visitors can freely access the ground floor and pay an admission fee to reach the terrace on the 30th floor for panoramic views of the city. Other areas remain restricted except for the observation deck.
