Storyline: Italian President Sergio Mattarella hailed the positive outcomes of Wednesday's 12th Joint Meeting of the China-Italy Government Committee and highlighted Italy's expectations for China to play an even greater role in promoting global peace and stability. During his meeting with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Rome on Thursday, Mattarella said China and Italy uphold and advocate the values and ideas of peace and cooperation, and are committed to resolving differences through dialogue. China enjoys great prestige in the international community and plays an increasingly crucial role, Mattarella added. He said that Italy expects China to make even greater contributions to global peace and stability.
