North Korea: Launching ceremony for renovating cemetery of Chinese People's Volunteers martyrs held in DPRK
A launching ceremony for the renovation of the cemetery honoring the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) who lost their lives during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953), was held on Wednesday in Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). At the ceremony in Sinphyong County, North Hwanghae Province, representatives from both China and the DPRK laid wreaths, bowed in silence, and presented flowers at the cemetery to express their respect and deep admiration for the CPV martyrs. The cemetery, covering an area of approximately 300 square meters, is the final resting place for 343 CPV martyrs. The renovation is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Following consultations, China and the DPRK have decided to renovate six cemeteries for CPV martyrs in the DPRK starting from October 2025.
