ANATOLIAN CIVIL SOCIETY PLATFORM SPOKESPERSON METIN DOGAN SPEAKING 3. TURKISH VICE PRESIDENT OF WORLDWIDE LAWYERS ASSOCIATION (WOLAS) HUSEYIN DISLI AND BOARD MEMBER HASAN BASRI BULBUL SPEAKING 4. WITNESS EYE SPOKESPERSON SELMAN AKSUNGER SPEAKING 5. LAWYER NECATI CEYLAN FROM INTERNATIONAL LAWYERS ASSOCIATION SPEAKING ISTANBUL, TÜRKİYE - OCTOBER 25, 2025: International jurists, human rights organizations, and media platforms presented extensive evidence of Israeli crimes in Gaza as reports to the Gaza Tribunal during the ongoing final session on “Complicity, International System, Resistance, and Solidarity.” The four-day public tribunal, held at Istanbul University from Thursday to Sunday, gathers testimonies from survivors, journalists, and legal experts to document human rights violations in the Gaza Strip. Representatives from Witness Eye, a media platform created by journalists to digitally archive testimonies from those living under conflict, emphasized the importance of preserving these records. A Witness Eye spokesperson said: "Witness Eye is a platform… established by media professionals in order to make a digital archive of the testimonies, statements of the people who are really, at the moment, living under the shadow of a genocide, and is also trying to amplify the voices of the people who are showing solidarity and sharing the Palestinian cause. "Over the past two years, Witness Eye has collected testimonies and evidence, digital video evidence from over 100 people. And at the moment, it's a privilege and honor for me to hand over these pieces of evidence that are showing the genocide, especially from the people who are living in Gaza." Also, a representative of MAZLUMDER, the Association for Human Rights and Solidarity for the Oppressed, highlighted the role of eyewitness accounts in documenting the crisis. "We have watched everything on television. But you are just registering for the history. So we are the eyewitnesses. That's why I'm presenting my reports to Mr. Richard and Steve June," its spokesperson stated. - ‘Gaza became the unifier of the Ummah’ Representing the Anatolian Civil Society Platform, Metin Dogan said the war in Gaza had galvanized more than 2,000 associations across Türkiye into near-daily actions and humanitarian initiatives. “In other words, Gaza became the unifier of the Ummah,” he said. “We realize that we are much more than we thought. Gaza told this to us.” Dogan said Turkish activists had organized flotillas and land convoys attempting to break the blockade and deliver aid. “We will continue the resistance until Gazans and Palestinians are free,” he said, adding that those who fight in the Israeli military should face prosecution. “They violated international law, killed Gazan women, children and a civilization. They must be prosecuted.” - Global legal coalition urged Members from the Worldwide Lawyers Association (WOLAS) called for a coordinated, long-term legal strategy to challenge what they described as genocide, apartheid and “systematic denial” of Palestinian rights. “International law… was built for it,” Turkish board member Hasan Basri Bulbul said, referring to structures he says protect state power. “Yet, it can be turned against its origins through coordinated, critical practice.” Turkish Vice President of WOLAS Huseyin Disli warned that Gaza’s legal system itself was being destroyed. More than 200 lawyers were killed, 220 were injured, 907 law offices were destroyed, and courts were completely suspended, he said, adding: “To destroy lawyers, Palestinian lawyers, is to destroy the very capacity for self-determination and liberation.” He called for “international legal accompaniment” to protect legal workers and renewed efforts to rebuild Palestinian legal institutions. “Protection of the world is not charity, it is a cause and struggle,” he said. - 'Committing crimes against all of humanity' The International Jurists Union also presented 13 detailed reports compiled over more than 700 days, documenting crimes against civilians, journalists, and institutions in Gaza. "We have more than 250 crimes committed by the occupation against journalists. And we have all the details. There are also reports about the crimes committed by the occupation against civilians," spokespersons said. "And there is also a report about the land occupied by the occupation, which was a part of the war of extermination, so that people and children would not find any food in Gaza. We have a report about the arrests and crimes committed by the occupation against the dead… We also have a report about the only hospital in the Gaza Strip where cancer patients receive treatment." They stressed the international responsibility for accountability, declaring: "They are raping people. They are committing war crimes. They are occupying people. They are committing crimes against all of humanity. This is the responsibility of all of humanity." - Gaza Tribunal The four-day public session at Istanbul University from Thursday to Sunday marks the culmination of a year-long effort by international jurists, scholars and civil society figures to document Israel's crimes committed against Palestinians. Saturday's sessions of the tribunal focused on complicity, international systems, resistance, and solidarity. Presided over by Richard Falk, former UN special rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories, the tribunal aims to produce a comprehensive “people’s record” of what participants describe as genocide, apartheid and systemic violations of international law in Gaza. The tribunal’s jury of conscience includes Kenize Mourad, Christine Chinkin, Chandra Muzaffar, Ghada Karmi, Sami Al-Arian and Biljana Vankovska. Its panel of jurists and observers is expected to issue a final opinion on Sunday, summarizing findings on genocide, apartheid, and systemic violations in Gaza.
