This is the hilarious moment two women screamed when a basket, believed to be possessed by a ghost, moved without being touched - only to discover it was caused by a cat.

Sujira Wongwattanasan and her sister were about to head out when their purple laundry basket suddenly slid across the floor as they stepped outside their home in Surin, Thailand.

CCTV footage shows the black feline beside the basket, kicking it on October 21.

The startled residents screamed in fear and dashed out of the compound.

Sujira said: 'Our neighbour had just passed away, and the funeral was being held at their home.

'We thought it was a poltergeist, the ghost of our neighbour, but when we reviewed the CCTV footage, we realised it was just the cat next door.'
