Surgical Team Operates As 6.8 Magnitude Quake Shakes Martinique Hospital
A video shared by X user Andreas Mussigbrodt shows surgeons carrying on with an operation as a magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck on October 27, 2025.
Captured through an observation window, the footage shows staff in scrubs working on a patient under bright surgical lights while the room visibly trembles.
Monitors display erratic ECG readings and fluctuating vital signs, and equipment including IV stands and a Medtronic device sway slightly. Despite the shaking, the surgical team remains focused and continues the procedure without pause.
