Nvidia Secures Major AI Chip Deals With South Korea’s Tech Giants. US chipmaker Nvidia has announced massive new partnerships across South Korea, agreeing to supply more than 260,000 of its most advanced AI chips to the government, Samsung, LG, and Hyundai. The technology will be used in factories producing everything from robots to self-driving cars. Speaking at the APEC CEO summit in Gyeongju, Nvidia’s chief executive Jensen Huang, said Korea could “produce intelligence as a new export that will drive global transformation,” just days after the company became the world’s first valued at $5 trillion. The deal marks a major step in Nvidia’s global expansion to strengthen AI infrastructure and boost integration across industries. South Korean president Lee Jae Myung said the country aims to become a leading AI hub, pledging heavy investment in what’s being called “sovereign AI” — technology built and controlled within national borders.
