Gaza official says Israel violated ceasefire agreement 194 times
SHOTLIST
KHAN YOUNIS, GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE (NOV. 2, 2025) (ANADOLU – ACCESS ALL)
1. VARIOUS OF GAZA GOVERNMENT MEDIA OFFICE DIRECTOR ISMAIL AL-THAWABTEH SPEAKING TO REPORTER (Arabic) KHAN YOUNIS, GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - NOV. 2: Israel has violated the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip 194 times since Oct. 10, according to the Government Media Office in Gaza.
The office’s director, Ismail al-Thawabteh, told Anadolu that the violations included “crossing beyond the designated yellow line, preventing the entry of medical and humanitarian aid, and continuing attacks.”
Al-Thawabteh said the “yellow line” marks the area from which Israeli forces were supposed to withdraw under the first phase of the ceasefire agreement. He added that Israeli troops had repeatedly entered residential areas, resulting in civilian casualties.
He also said Israeli forces targeted Palestinians attempting to return to their homes near the yellow line and warned residents to stay away from the area to avoid “attacks.”
The official noted that Israel has blocked the entry of humanitarian and medical aid trucks, refused to open the Rafah crossing for patients, and only allowed equipment for retrieving Israeli hostages’ remains — not for recovering Palestinian bodies.
He added that more than 6,000 aid trucks remain stranded on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing, while Israel has also prevented the entry of 300,000 tents and container homes agreed upon in the ceasefire.
Al-Thawabteh called on US President Donald Trump and international mediators to take immediate action to ensure the full implementation of the agreement and stop further violations.
Israel has killed 211 Palestinians and injured 597 others since the ceasefire, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
Israel has tied the start of negotiations for the second phase of the ceasefire to the handover of all the hostage remains. Hamas says the process requires time due to the massive destruction in Gaza.
Phase one of the deal includes the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. The plan also envisages the rebuilding of Gaza and the establishment of a new governing mechanism without Hamas.
Israel has killed more than 68,800 people, mostly women and children, and injured over 170,600 others in attacks in Gaza since October 2023.
