RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - RECENT OCT: Drone video captured the Port Rio De Janeiro, one of Brazil's largest and busiest ports, as negotiations continue between the US and Brazil regarding tariffs.

Despite the preliminary agreement reached between Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and US President Donald Trump following the Trump administration's tariff decisions, Brazilian ports have been experiencing trade disruptions.

Container backlogs, particularly at the Port of Rio de Janeiro, have increased recently.

Also, exports at the port have experienced a temporary increase instead of a permanent increase in total trade volume.

Starting at 10% for many countries, the tariffs have been raised to 50% by US for most items from Brazil and India.
