Royal Navy warships aided hurricane relief efforts in Jamaica.

Personnel aboard HMS Trent, a Royal Navy Batch 2 Offshore Patrol Vessel stationed in the Caribbean for disaster relief operations, arrived on the island following a request from the government and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

Footage shows emergency responders and the Crisis Response Team carrying out cleanup operations on November 6.

HMS Trent is currently deployed across the Caribbean and North Atlantic under Atlantic Patrol Tasking (North), the Royal Navy's long-standing commitment to supporting the United Kingdom's Overseas Territories in the region.

Melissa made landfall on Jamaica's south-western coast around 1 pm ET on October 28 as a Category 5 hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of 185 mph. At least 67 deaths were reported as a result of the freak weather.
