Cabin crew use tape to fix water leak from overhead compartment on flight
This is the moment cabin crew used tape to fix a water leak on a flight from South Korea to Singapore.
Footage captured by passenger Adeline Lee inside the Boeing 787 shows quick-thinking staff using adhesive tape to patch an overhead compartment and stop water from dripping on November 9.
Flight SQ601, operated by Singapore Airlines, was scheduled to depart from Incheon International Airport at 5:20 pm local time when the leak appeared just before takeoff.
At first, the crew suspected the water was coming from passengers' bags in the overhead bins. But the dripping continued despite their efforts to mop it up.
The staff then grabbed tissues, cloths, and tape, carefully patching the area to prevent further leakage.
Adeline said: 'The crew was scrambling with tissues, cloths, and pure determination to stop our little in-flight leak. With tape and scissors, they patched it up like they were performing mini surgery in the sky.
'I honestly feel SQ handled it like champs - super fast, professional, and kind.'
Passengers affected by the incident received gift vouchers as compensation. The aircraft later landed safely at Singapore Changi Airport at around 10:30 pm.
