Airport staff confirmed at a press conference today that a British pensioner was killed when severe turbulence rocked a Singapore Airlines flight from London.

Airport Director Kittipong Kittikachorn, seen speaking in the video, said that Geoffrey Ralph Kitchen, 73, from Thornbury, died onboard flight SQ321 before it made an emergency landing in Bangkok, Thailand, shortly before 4pm local time.

Geoffrey, who ran the Thornbury Musical Theatre Group, has been moved to a police hospital for a post-mortem examination. His wife, who was also injured in the horror turbulence, is being treated at the hospital.
