A travel advisory has been issued for motorists heading from Bengaluru or Mysuru toward Sringeri, Horanadu, Kalasa, Agumbe, and Kudremukh. Due to the poor condition of the Hassan–Belur–Chikkamagaluru–Aldur stretch, travelers are being advised to take alternative routes.
From Hassan, drivers are recommended to proceed via Sakleshpur, Hanbal, Jannapura, Mudigere, Kottigehara, and Balur. From Balur, routes through Magundi and Balehonnur offer access to Sringeri, while roads via Neranki and Marasanige lead to Kalasa, Horanadu, and Samse. Those planning to visit Horanadu before Sringeri may follow the Balur–Kalasa–Horanadu–Kalasa–Balehole–Basarikatte–Sringeri route.
Authorities caution that these routes are recommended only for daytime travel. A shorter path from Horanadu to Sringeri via Menasinahadya/Kyatanmakki is shown on Google Maps, but it is not advised due to narrow ghat roads, lack of signage, and minimal local assistance.
