On 19 November 2025, Mount Semeru experienced a powerful eruption that sent a massive pyroclastic cloud rolling toward several villages in Lumajang, East Java. According to local police and emergency authorities, this event was classified as a secondary eruption, following increased volcanic activity earlier in the month.

This footage shows the dramatic aftermath recorded on 24 November 2025 at 16:00 local time, where a powerful cold lava flow (lahar) surged beneath the Gladak Perak Bridge. The flow carried mud, sand, and massive boulders the size of cars, creating a roaring current filled with grey water and thick volcanic debris, while white steam rose from the surface.

Local police officers on-site can be heard explaining the situation, warning nearby residents to stay away from the river due to the extreme danger.
This video captures a terrifying yet visually striking moment in one of Indonesia’s most active volcanic regions, illustrating the destructive force of Semeru’s post-eruptive flows.
