BOGOTA, COLOMBIA - NOV. 26: A ceremony was held in Bogota on Wednesday, Nov. 26, to mark the ninth anniversary of the disarmament of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), with senior officials and international representatives in attendance.

Those present included Colombian President Gustavo Petro Urrego; Rodrigo Londono, former FARC commander, peace accord signatory and president of the Comunes party; Pastor Alape, also a signatory to the agreement; and Miroslav Jenca, head of the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia.

Speakers highlighted the progress made since the 2016 peace deal while acknowledging the structural and social challenges that continue to hinder its full implementation.

They emphasized the need to strengthen institutional commitments and sustain collective efforts to secure lasting peace across the country.
