Mount Carmel Blaze: 4th Alarm Firefighters Battle Structure Collapse
Fourth-Alarm Fire Hits Mount Carmel A massive fire broke out in the 200 block of South Poplar Street in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania, around 12:40 a.m. on November 24, 2025. The blaze was so intense that flames and smoke were visible from across town, prompting extra alarms and a tanker task force to be called in to help with water supply. Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshals were on the scene investigating the cause of the fire before an excavator was allowed to knock down some of the damaged structures. As of the latest update, Chief Williams stated that rumors of a propane tank explosion causing the fire are unconfirmed due to the extent of the damage. The fire marshals have also not issued a public comment on the matter.

Thanks to first responders
While the Mount Carmel fire was a tragedy, I want to personally thank all the firefighters from outside Mount Carmel who came to help out. I also want to thank the 13-year-old who helped show the one fire company how to hook up a hose to a fire hydrant, and the chiefs who walked up to the Mount Carmel chief and pointed out things to watch out for, like making sure nobody got electrocuted from the downed power lines. I wish I could have brought you more than just water. I’m glad we have highly trained firefighters from Kulpmont, Atlas, Ashland and everyone else who showed up, because Mount Carmel definitely needed your help.
