2. VARIOUS OF PROTESTORS MARCHING, HOLDING BANNERS AND FLAGS WHILE CHANTING MADRID, SPAIN - NOV. 29, 2025: People took to the streets on Saturday, Nov. 29, in many cities on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, condemning Israel in Madrid, Spain.

Demonstrators carried banners reading “Stop the genocide” and “Full arms embargo on Israel” while marching through central Madrid and chanting slogans.

This public dissent comes against the backdrop of a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye, with United States support. The first phase of this agreement came into effect on October 10.

The initial phase of the ceasefire includes the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. The long-term plan also envisages the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and the establishment of a new governing mechanism that excludes Hamas.

According to reports, Israeli attacks in Gaza since October 2023 have resulted in nearly 70,000 fatalities, predominantly women and children, with over 170,000 individuals injured.

Concurrently, the Israeli military has escalated its operations in the West Bank since the outbreak of the war in Gaza. In the occupied territory, more than 1,085 Palestinians have been killed, and over 10,700 injured in attacks by the army and illegal settlers. Additionally, more than 20,500 people have been arrested.
