A major gas-fired power plant commenced operations in east China's Zhejiang Province on Sunday. The power plant project in Anji County, which boasts the largest single-unit capacity for a gas-powered plant of its kind in China, utilizes the world's most advanced gas turbine technology, achieving a maximum efficiency of 64.15 percent. The unit one of the two-unit power plant, which is operated by the CHN Energy Investment Group (CHN Energy), had completed a 168-hour full-load trial operations. Once both turbines are fully operational, the plant will have a maximum annual power generation capacity of 7 billion kilowatt-hours. This output is estimated to meet the annual electricity demand of 6 million residents and save approximately 670,000 metric tons of standard coal annually.
