Phoenix, United States - November 30, 2025 11/29/2025 11:40 pm GMT-0700 LAVEEN, Ariz. – According to information gathered at the scene, Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputies and Phoenix Fire Department personnel responded to reports of a collision involving a sedan and a female on a horse near the intersection of 35th Avenue and McNeil Street. Upon arrival, deputies located the horse and rider in the roadway. The involved sedan, a black Audi, was stopped in the northbound lane. The female horseback rider was hospitalized in unknown condition. Deputies used a rifle to euthanize the horse due to the extent of its injuries. The driver of the involved Audi remained at the scene and cooperated with deputies during the course of their investigation. 35th Avenue was closed in both directions, south of McNeil Street, while deputies investigated the collision.
