Three Chinese fugitives were arrested at a condo in Thailand over alleged human trafficking.

Yang, 31, and Zhang, 21, allegedly duped more than 120 Chinese victims into working at scam hubs in Myanmar and Cambodia.

They were said to have lured their countrymen by claiming they could open foreign credit cards and withdraw cash without payment.

Once convinced, the Chinese workers were reportedly trafficked across the borders of Yunnan and Guangxi in China, before being forced to work at fraudulent call centres in Southeast Asia. The scheme reportedly resulted in more than one million CNY (106,901 GBP) in financial damages.

Chinese police arrested 11 gang members on the mainland, but the pair were said to have fled into Thailand on tourist visas, sparking an international manhunt.

Investigations found that Zhang arrived in June, while Yang entered the country a month later.

Police launched raids upon learning they were staying in separate condominiums in Bangkok.

Footage shows cops storming into the alleged fugitives' rooms in the Sukhumvit and Lat Phrao areas of the city.

A third Chinese national, Zhang's girlfriend Cheng, 20, was also detained on suspicion of 'receiving stolen goods and helping smuggle Chinese people out of China'.

All three suspects were taken into custody as Thai officials prepare to extradite them to their homeland.

Thailand has become a notorious base for Chinese crime gangs operating cross-border fraud and human trafficking operations in neighbouring Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar.

Thai and Chinese authorities were coordinating to crack down on the transnational crime rings.
