A Chinese tourist was arrested with guns and ammo in his condo in Thailand.

Xiwen Pang, 39, was reportedly hiding a cache of illegal weapons when he was detained in the coastal town of Pattaya on January 16.

Police stormed his unit at The Glass condominium following reports about 'suspicious Chinese nationals' staying in the building.

Officers raided the room on the first floor, where they found Xiwen and another Chinese national.

They searched the premises and seized two 9mm handguns, a SIG Sauer P365 and a Kahr CW9, and 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Both men were taken to the police station for questioning.

Authorities later confirmed that the firearms and ammunition belonged to Pang, who declined to explain how and why he obtained them.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Siriwat Katchamat of the Pattaya City Police Station said: 'We handed him over to the inquiry officer to prosecute him on charges of possessing firearms and ammunition without permission. He will face further legal procedures.'
