FIFA Scales Back Dynamic Pricing for 2026 World Cup Tickets. FIFA has pulled back from using dynamic pricing across all 2026 World Cup tickets following growing concerns over affordability for fans attending the expanded tournament in North America. The organisation says it always intended to reserve fixed-price tickets, particularly for supporters following their own national teams. The clarification arrives days before Friday’s World Cup draw in Washington DC, which President Donald Trump is expected to attend. Fans will only learn their teams’ match locations and schedules on Saturday, adding to uncertainty around travel and ticket planning. Supporters shared screenshots of ticket site previews showing steep prices, sparking alarm among England and Scotland fans. FIFA confirmed that “ringfenced” fixed-price allocations—8% of stadium capacity per match—will be set aside for participating nations’ fans, including for conditional knockout games. Prices will start at $60 (£45) for group matches, while the most expensive final tickets reach $6,730 (£5,094). A fixed-price application window will run from 11 December to 13 January. With 104 matches and hosts spread across the US, Canada and Mexico, FIFA defended the use of variable pricing as standard for major events in North America, but insisted it aims to protect fair access for fans.
