A Thai girl was terrified as she faced her fear of heights on this controversial 435ft high giant swing in Bangkok.

Three Chatcharaporn, 27, was shaking as the SkyFlyers tower hoisted her into the air while spinning around to give sweeping views of the languid city.

Footage shows the nervous visitor, barely able to keep her eyes open, screaming as she rotated around the bright red central tower.

The Chao Phraya River can be seen below, flanked by apartment blocks and skyscrapers stretching to the horizon.

Office worker Three was left catching her breath as the swing ride returned them to the ground - still shaking from facing her fear of heights.

She said: 'I've always been afraid of heights. So this was always going to be scary for me.

'My legs turned to jelly. I felt like I was going to faint. It's not just the height that's scary, but spinning round in circles. It's nauseating. The movement of the swing feels like flying and gravity just disappears.

'It is the scariest thing I've ever done. There's no sound at the top apart from the sound of people screaming. You're just in a tiny seat, it's like being very dizzy.'

Launched on November 29, the ride claims the title as the tallest giant swing in both the country and the wider Asia-Pacific region. Owners say it is the top three globally, stretching to the same height as a 36-storey skyscraper, or around 435ft (135m).

The SkyFlyer operates in the afternoon from 2:30 pm to 3 pm and at night from 10 pm to 11 pm. Guests must remove their belongings from their pockets to prevent them from falling onto people below.

Despite the popularity of the attraction and safety checks, many residents claim the late-evening rides have made it difficult to rest, urging mall management to find a solution.

They say the incessant screams and howls are like a non-stop horror movie being played.

Frustrated resident Sanga Pishayangkul said: 'SkyFlyers… What time will I be able to sleep? The world-class ride sits next to my fence, and so does the nonstop screaming.'

Another neighbour added: 'It feels like someone is screaming above my head all the time. No one here can sleep anymore. Terrible.'

While one pensioner living nearby said the constant howls were 'traumatising'.

Mai Sukanyul, 72, said: 'It's like living through a nightmare every night. The screams remind me of a horror film. It could be traumatic for some people.'

Tourists can access the attraction inside the Asiatique compound, with tickets priced from 320 baht (7.50 GBP) to 999 baht (23.41 GBP) for bundle packages covering additional rides.
