Phoenix, United States - December 05, 2025 12/05/2025 01:24 am GMT-0700 PEORIA, Ariz. – According to a Peoria Fire Medical battalion chief at the scene, firefighters from Peoria and several neighboring cities responded to reports of a structure fire at the Home Depot located near 91st Avenue and Peoria Avenue at approximately 1:24 a.m. Upon arrival, crews located smoke and flames billowing from the roof of the Home Depot. The assignment was quickly upgraded to a 1st alarm, prompting a large response of additional fire department resources. A tower ladder was extended over the structure, allowing crews to attack the flames with an elevated master stream. Additional crews forced entry into the structure to check for fire extension. Ladder crews achieved an effective knockdown on the seat of the fire, stopping the flames from extending into the lumber area of the store. The store has sustained extensive water and smoke damage due to firefighting efforts. Multiple night shift workers were present at the time of the blaze. All employees safely evacuated the structure before first responders arrived. No injuries have been reported. Peoria Fire Medical Department investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
