Weather balloon deployed over Miami to monitor Storm Bram movements
A weather balloon was deployed over Miami to monitor the movements of Storm Bram.
Footage shows the white balloon being inflated with hydrogen inside an indoor facility on December 7.
A worker adjusts the setup as the balloon expands, with an orange parachute and other components laid out nearby.
Another clip shows the inflatable lifting off from a grassy field under a clear blue sky framed by palm trees.
Authorities said the inflation process formed part of routine weather data collection, which is vital for forecasting during significant weather events such as Storm Bram, which has brought severe flooding and coastal impacts to the UK and Ireland.
