1. WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY KAROLINE LEAVITT SPEAKING (English) WASHINGTON, DC, US - DEC. 11, 2025: The White House said Thursday, Dec. 11, that US President Donald Trump wants concrete action rather than further rhetoric on the Russia–Ukraine war, expressing frustration toward both sides of the conflict.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that the administration is still assessing whether to take part in weekend talks that will bring together European and Ukrainian representatives.

“President Trump is extremely angry at both sides of this war and is tired of meetings held just for the sake of meeting,” Leavitt said. “The president wants action, not words. He wants this war to end.”

Leavitt noted that Trump is aware of the responses Ukraine sent a day earlier regarding his 20-point peace proposal but declined to comment on his private views.

The spokesperson emphasized lingering uncertainty about whether “real peace” is achievable at this stage, reiterating that Trump remains dissatisfied with both Moscow and Kyiv over the trajectory of the conflict.

Asked whether Washington would send a representative to the upcoming talks, Leavitt said the decision had not yet been finalized. “If we determine that attending this weekend’s discussions is worth the time, we will send someone,” she said.

Leavitt added that the US wants to see whether a genuine opportunity exists for Russia and Ukraine to move toward a peace agreement.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday he held “productive” meetings with a US delegation consisting of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Trump’s adviser Jared Kushner. According to US and Ukrainian officials speaking to CNN, Ukraine delivered its response to Trump’s 20-point proposal on Wednesday following those talks.
