A peaceful dog walk turned unexpectedly dramatic when a group of otters charged at a family in a neighbourhood park. The clip, posted by @wolfiewiggles, has now surpassed 5 million views.

The family said they visit the park often and had never seen otters in that section before, though others had reported sightings. Their dog first spotted the animals near the riverbank and began pulling toward them. Moments later, the otters noticed the dog and charged out of the water, likely perceiving it as a threat.

What began as laughs and giggles quickly shifted when the otters sprinted toward the husband and the dog, prompting the family to run. The pursuit continued even after the filmer dropped their phone, though all three made it away safely.

They described the encounter as a reminder that otters, while adorable, are highly territorial and not to be underestimated.

We took our dog on a walk at a neighborhood park in Singapore as per usual, we visit this park quite often, but we never spotted otters before in this part of the park, thought some people have spotted them before.

After we spotted the gang of otters, our dog was pulling us toward the riverbank, and the otter suddenly noticed us. They probably thought our dog was a threat and started charging at us. We really didn’t expect the otters to come out of the waters…so it was all laugh and giggles until they started running towards my husband and our dog.

They actually pursued us a bit longer after I dropped my phone (when the video ended). All three of us got away safely at the end! But lesson learned is not to trigger those baddies as they are not just adorable but also very territorial.
