During a parliamentary session convened to discuss various agenda items, lawmakers from the opposition Democratic Party (PD) protested the Constitutional Court’s decision to reinstate Balluku, who had been suspended from office on Nov. 19 over corruption allegations.
Opposition deputies moved into seats reserved for cabinet members, blocked the parliamentary rostrum and attempted to disrupt the session. Scuffles broke out between parliamentary security officers and opposition lawmakers.
Some MPs also lit flares and threw water at Parliament Speaker Niko Peleshi, who later suspended the session due to the unrest.
