Tragedy in Assam: Rajdhani Express Derails, Killing 7 Elephants
On 20 December Saturday A tragic collision in Assam's Hojai district resulted in the death of seven elephants and the derailment of the Sairang-New Delhi Rajdhani Express. The incident occurred around 2:17 AM, disrupting rail services and prompting a swift response from railway officials and rescue teams.
The accident site is located about 126 km from Guwahati. Following the incident, accident relief trains and railway officials rushed to the spot to initiate rescue operations.
Expressing sorrow over the deaths of elephants, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma ordered a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
