Two female thieves were caught on CCTV stealing £100 worth of goods from a family-run shop – while singing ‘Santa Baby'.

The brazen pair were filmed helping themselves to model paints, pro brushes and even a Gruffalo toy.

They struck at Badham's Hardware shop in Upton upon Severn, Worcs., last Thursday (18/12).

Owners Catherine and Patrick Badham only realised something was up when stock started vanishing but were gobsmacked by what they saw on the cameras.

Catherine, 48, said: "They were singing Santa Baby while stealing my stock, so casually, it was horrible to watch. "

"They stole tiny enamel paints for model painting and stole some professional artist brushes. They also stole a toy Gruffalo and some hats." "

On the footage, one woman even whispers to her mate before staring straight at the camera before belting out the festive hit as they stuff items into their bags.

Catherine reckons the pair are flogging wreaths and lucky horseshoes at a nearby camp and "probably my paints." "

The mum-of-five added: "We reckon they've taken between £70 and £100. "

"What really annoyed me is that they looked directly at the camera, they were brazen. "

"Sometimes we get people who take drugs or are known shoplifters."

"But these two girls looked like normal people doing their shopping. We take people on face value. It's really disappointing." "

Her husband Patrick, who was in the shop at the time, said he became suspicious of the pair.

He said: "I just felt something was off so when I'd finished serving I checked the area they were in and noticed quite a lot missing."

"When I looked at the CCTV it confirmed my suspicions. "

"They were singing Santa Baby as they merrily chose what they wanted." "

Catherine said the brazen theft was particularly disappointing coming so close to Christmas.

She said: "It just makes you feel terrible as we work really hard for our community, it's a lovely place to live. "

"It just makes your heart sink. "

"Like all businesses, we work hard for our money and we work hard for our community and we always prefer to see the good in people, so it's frustrating to say the least." "

The couple have reported the theft to police.
