The handover marks a significant step in the government's initiative to centralize all arms under state authority.

Abdulhadi al-Asadi, media official for the Palestinian National Security Forces, confirmed that this operation serves as the fifth phase of the disarmament plan mandated by the Lebanese Cabinet on Aug. 5.

Al-Asadi emphasized that the transfer reflects a "deep partnership" between Palestinian factions and the Lebanese state, aiming to reinforce stability and security for both communities.

Similar handovers have previously taken place at camps in Beirut, Tyre, and Tripoli.

According to UNRWA, approximately 200,000 Palestinian refugees reside in Lebanon's 12 official camps, where poverty rates have reached 93%.
