The group was skiing in the mountainous terrain near the Panticosa spa area when they were overtaken by a wall of snow. Search and rescue teams, including mountain specialists and helicopter units, were deployed immediately after the slide was reported.

Authorities confirmed that two men and one woman died in the incident. A second woman sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local medical facility, while two other members of the group managed to escape the path of the snow unharmed.
