A dramatic video shows a group of plane enthusiasts nearly swept off their feet by the powerful wake of a departing aircraft.

The footage, captured outside Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, China, on December 20 shows tourists and aviation fans eagerly filming planes taking off.

But as a large passenger jet began its departure, a sudden blast of air from the engines surged toward the crowd.

The force of the jet's wake sent people staggering backward, some struggling to maintain their balance while clutching cameras and phones.

The intense airflow toppled a motorcycle and several children were unable to stay on their feet in the strong gusts, forcing parents to hold them tightly to keep them safe.
