KAYSERI, TÜRKİYE - JAN. 6: Wild horses living in Türkiye’s central province of Kayseri are being rounded up daily by municipal teams as severe winter weather grips large parts of the country.

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality crews gather the horses in the Hurmetci Marshlands in a controlled manner each day to protect them from the harsh winter conditions, according to local authorities.

The animals are provided with food in designated areas where they are collected.

The protective measures come as a cold snap and heavy snowfall have disrupted daily life across central Türkiye and numerous other regions over the past week.

The wild horses are native to the marshlands area and require special care during the winter months when temperatures drop and food sources become scarce.
