Samih Abu Saade, who was displaced from the Bani Suheila area of Khan Younis to the coastal al-Mawasi area, said he has been using a tyre inflation pump as a makeshift breathing aid for his chronically ill mother.
Speaking to Anadolu, the 34-year-old said he is living with his mother and children in a farm trailer in al-Mawasi. He said his mother, Fatma Abu Saade, suffers from heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and asthma.
Abu Saade said access to medicines and medical equipment in Gaza has become extremely limited, while reaching hospitals is difficult and costly.
Fatma Abu Saade, who experiences frequent asthma attacks, said she has survived by using the improvised device in the absence of an electric breathing machine.
She called for an end to the war, the reopening of border crossings and the resumption of medical supplies entering Gaza, saying her only hope is for life to return to normal.
