Local media reported that approximately twelve thousand hectares of land have been affected so far.
Officials said rural properties sustained damage and noted that a power plant and a school remained at risk.
They added that dry conditions and strong winds hinder firefighting efforts and reduced visibility due to heavy smoke.
According to local authorities, 295 firefighters operated in the area, supported by fifteen aircraft.
Argentina’s Federal Emergency Agency said active fires were also reported in Neuquen, while blazes in Santa Cruz and Rio Negro were under control.
The agency stated that the emergency status remained in place across the region.
Chubut Governor Ignacio Torres told reporters that at least one of the active fires showed indications of deliberate ignition.
The investigation into the cause of the fires continued, and authorities announced a reward of approximately thirty-four thousand dollars for information related to the incident.
