SIGRUN MEDER, SWEDISH ACTIVIST SPEAKING TO REPORTER (Swedish) STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - JAN. 10: Hundreds of demonstrators gathered at Odenplan Square in Stockholm on Saturday, Jan. 10, to protest both the United States' military intervention in Venezuela and Israel's continued bombardment of Gaza in violation of the ceasefire.

Organized by multiple civil society groups, the rally addressed what participants described as "American imperialism" following the US capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores.

Simultaneously, protesters condemned Israeli forces for breaching the truce that began on Oct. 10, 2025, citing ongoing airstrikes and the deepening humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian enclave.

"We are here to defend democracy and human rights. We stand with Palestine, and we stand with Venezuela," said Swedish activist Sigrun Meder, who attended the rally.

The crowd carried banners reading "Stop American Imperialism," "End Food Scarcity in Palestine," and "Peace for Venezuela," while chanting slogans to the beat of drums.
