A shimmering golden temple amazed visitors in central Thailand.

Mintra and her friend were stunned as they passed by the Wat Chan Tawan Tok in Phitsanulok on January 15.

Footage captured by the holidaymaker riding a motorcycle shows the striking pavilion in a brilliant golden hue, covered with small, gold-coloured mirror tiles and intricate stencilling.

The temple structures glow as sunlight reflects off the nearby Nan River. It features gables, serpent sculptures, and traditional tiered roofs.

The temple compound's fence also matches the theme of the main hall.

The Wat Chan Tawan Tok was established in 1857, while the Maha Viharn Somdet Ong Pathom, or the Golden Pavilion, began construction in 2003 and is currently under construction.

It is built in a modern Rattanakosin style but features Lanna influences, with every surface covered in gold-coloured mirror mosaics.

Local media reported that the temple's exterior is already complete, but its interior is still under construction.
