ANKARA, TÜRKİYE (JAN. 17, 2026) (ANADOLU - ACCESS ALL)

1. VARIOUS OF LENTICULAR CLOUD FORMED IN SKY ANKARA, TÜRKİYE - JAN. 17: An eye-catching scene emerged as a lenticular cloud formed in the skies over Türkiye's central province of Cankiri on Saturday, Jan. 17.

The lens-shaped cloud appeared in multiple layers due to wind oscillations.

The formation, often mistaken for a UFO due to its smooth and layered appearance, occurs when moist, stable air is forced upward over elevated terrain.

As the air cools and condenses, it creates the distinct, stationary "lens" shape that can hover over mountain summits for several hours despite strong underlying winds.
